DAS CHANGES
Starting in September we will be adding some badly needed showroom, office and class room space to our facility
here at DAS. We will be offering classes ranging from Intro to Photo-Shop Elements ranging all the way to work
flow for graphic designers, color management and RIP processing. Classes will vary in time from 1 hour to 3 day
seminars. Our website will add a new section for times and costs. Stay tuned (and if there is a class you'd like
to see us hold, please email me!)

Due to popular request we will be adding Innova papers to the line up of great paper DAS carries. Our goal is to be able to stock
all of the paper Innova makes, but we will likely start with the FibaPrint papers & the Book Arts papers for those of you that

Epson Part Number Changes
There are a couple of Epson part number changes you should be aware of if you use Epson’s Premium Glossy paper. Unfortunately I don’t know if the base paper, coating or just the number has changed. The name is the same.

Discontinued Epson Products
Effective June 13th, Epson has discontinued the Epson R-800 printer, some may still be available if you need one. I have not seen an announced replacement as of this time.
You likely know that the Epson R2400 has been replaced by the R2880. We tried to get a 2400 for a customer last week & it looks like they are all gone. If you need a 2400, best to look at E-Bay or your local used printer classified ads.

Epson GT-20000 High Performance Color Scanner
Epson recently announced the GT-20000 High Performance Color Scanner. The GT-20000 offers the productivity benefits of advanced scanning technology in an affordable, large-format document scanner. A versatile workgroup performer, this powerful product provides 600x1200 dpi resolution and 48-bit color for incredible detail on scans up to 11.7" x 17". Cool White Matte
This week we are showcasing Cool White Matte. CWM is very white, matte paper that dries instantly. It is slightly heavier than Epson's Enhanced Matte and gives as good as, if not better, image quality on a white surface. (It's also less expensive!) Many of our customers use it as an every day “proof your image” type paper but we have recently found that quite a number use it for final prints because of it’s brightness, image quality and cost. If you need a great paper that doesn’t require being 100% cotton this is the paper for you.
The paper comes in all sizes from 4x6’s to 42” rolls. For heavy users we have 500 sheet bulk packs at a great price & they’re included in this sale. Profiles are available contact steve if you don’t see what you need on the site.

New Printers from Epson
In Europe Epson has announced 2 new printers called the 7900 and 9900. These printers will not be available until at least December of this year. If you have experience waiting for Epson new products you’ll understand that the December target is usually optimistic.
That said, the 2 printers will have 11 inks cartridges, yes dual blacks, orange and green. Cartridges will be 350 ml & 700 ml. Expect the 350 carts to be about $100+ and the 700ml to be about $200+. That makes a set of inks(street price) to be either $1000 or $2000. If you’re wondering if you should wait & you’re a small shop I’d say absolutely don’t wait. The cost of ink will be painful. I don’t mean the cost per print, simply may of you are smaller shops & $1000 for ink to buy a set will be painful. There will not be 110 or 220 ml inks.
Also there has been no announcement for a 17” model, perhaps it will follow but we never know. Email either me or steve if you need further details. steve@digitalartsupplies.net

Epson R2400 Rebate
From 4/1/08-5/31/08 Epson is offering a $100 mail in rebate for the R2400 printers. We have the forms available if you need one. We've had many questions about whether the R2400 is going to be discontinued because it seems when a product starts getting rebates offered, it gets replaced soon after. Unfortunately I don't have any news on this one just yet, but as soon as I do I will let you all know.

Pictorico Paper Update
We have just found out that the lead time on the Pro HiGloss White Film is a couple of months for the roll sizes. Apparently we have to wait for a shipment to come from Japan. What I’m looking for from you, is an idea of how much you would use over a 2 month period, that way we can bring enough stock in to satisfy customer needs (hopefully). I think this is a start up issue, so please be patient if you use this product, we’ve waited a long time to get it back… just a little bit longer.

Harman Paper
Harman has announced a new Professional Inkjet paper called Gloss FB AL Warmtone. This is considered to be a “real” photo baryta paper designed for black and white prints. New Home Page
At DAS, we have been spending the early part of spring doing a bit of ‘Spring Cleaning’ to our website. You will notice our homepage has been revamped to make your shopping experience easier. Our products, sales and news are listed right on the front page so you don’t need to spend time searching.
Speaking about searching here are some hints to help you in your searches. If can’t seems to find an item you want try using "wildcards". For example you know that your ink part number starts with T544 but can’t remember which number is magenta. So in the search field enter T544* and the search engine comes up with all T544 inks. We are constantly trying to upgrade the searches on the website so if you can’t find something & know it’s really there, please email me & let me know.
