Well, 2009 has started very quickly and for what it's worth, the first week is looking far better than the last few months. We saw the economic downturn starting in August '07, so we are hoping that we're one of the first to notice that things are getting better!

PRICE CHANGES

We have been getting some price changes from quite a few manufacturers.  Some of them are down, but quite a few have increased prices.  Increased prices have been a rarity in this business; we're all used to prices coming down.
 
The most notable of the bunch is Epson. We have a 1 month reprieve but this will affect many of you.  Some of their ink prices are going up 12%.  This increase is on MSRP, as well as our cost, so be aware that all retailers will be increasing prices significantly.  The good news, however, is that it's not effective until 2/1/09, so you can stock up now. 
 
For the wide format, folks, this change affects the Pro 4000, 7600, 9600, 10600 and all earlier models. For the desktop model, it affects the R2400 and earlier photo printer models. If any of you would like to do a bulk purchase this month or look into replacing the old printer, please email me at karen@digitalartsupplies.net.  We'll work with you to try to minimize the pain.
MUSEO TEXTURED RAG
We will be carrying Museo's new Textured Rag. The website hasn't yet been updated, but here's the information you may need. Textured Rag is reminiscent of old world cold press watercolor paper. It is flake free and a great option to replace Arches Textured, German Etching or William Turner papers. Like all Museo papers, Museo® Textured Rag™ is 100% cotton, acid free, and designed to last, so future generations can enjoy your masterpiece.

DAS HIGH GLOSS VINYL
A new product for us is a single-sided high gloss vinyl, yes with an adhesive back.  It is water resistant & appropriate for indoor or short-term outdoor signage.  It should be available in about a month, but if you need a sample right away, please contact me at karen@digitalartsupplies.net
EPSON REBATES

Epson Stylus Pro 3800
 
Epson Stylus Pro 3800 has extended the $200 mail in rebate. This applies to both The standard 3800 & the Professional Edition. Valid through 1/31/09.

Epson Stylus Pro 11880
 
Epson just changed the rebate for the 11880. It has been increased to $4000 and extended through April 2009.  Contact andrew@digitalartsupplies.net if this printer is a possibility for you.  Leasing options are available.

Canon Trade-In Program

Artist Canvas - Older Version

This canvas is made from 100% cotton duck fabric, 20 mil thick, 410 gsm, so it's very heavyweight. it has a very tight weave with a semigloss finish that makes it nice for artistic reproductions. The base canvas is acid free & archival - we have no information about the coating. This canvas does work with Epson pigmented inks.
